(Valentines day special. ^-^ )

You smiled and jumped out of your moms mini-van, clenching your valentine-box tightly in your hand.
“Goodbye, love!” Mom said, waving and pulling out of the bus loop. You giggled to yourself and sneaked a peek inside the pink heart-shaped box. Smiling, you ran upstairs to outside your classroom.
“Well well well…” An older kid said, crossing his arms and smirking. “Someone’s got a nice-looking box. Who’re you trying to impress? The teacher?” He started laughing and pushed you out of the way. You simply rolled your eyes and headed upstairs. Mrs. Johnson was holding the door open, wearing a bright pink shirt with springy hearts dangling from her headband.
“Welcome back, (name)!” She said, smiling at you brightly.
“Thank you, Ms. Johnson!” You giggled, stepping inside to see the whole classroom filled with pink hearts and Valentine’s Day stuff that read ‘Happy valentines day, 2nd grade!’ and ‘Find your true love!’ You put your box on the counter and sat down. You looked at the desk next to you and frowned. But, as soon as you frowned, Matthew sat down and you smiled. All of your friends looked over at you as you blushed, glancing at the quiet man.
“H-Hey (name)…” He whispered, holding his backpack tightly.
“Hey Mattie…” You said, twirling your finger in your hair and blushing.
Mrs. Johnson stood in front of the class.
“Alright everyone, we’ll be doing some fun activities, then we get to exchange cards, and finally, we’ll close the day with Ms. Brea’s class coming over.” She said, giggling cheerfully. Everyone cheered. All you did was look down at the special card you were planning on giving Matthew…Secretly.
About 15 minutes into class, you had already decorated your own cookie and wrote a poem for your mom.
“Alright, now everyone grab your boxes. We’re going to exchange cards!”
Matthew said he’d get yours. You sighed and put your head on the desk. Matthew came back and handed you your box, and set his own on his desk.
“Alright everyone…begin!”
Everyone got up and started placing cards in everyone’s boxes. After your first few, you got bored, so you started placing random cards in random piles, except for Matthews. You took a double-take to make sure he was distracted, and placed the card in his box. Just in time too, because Ms. Brea’s class started walking in. You took your seat and placed your box on the floor, and stuck your hands in your desk. You felt something…paper in your desk. You pulled it out and looked at it.
“Dear (name)…
I have a crush on you, and I hope that one day we can get married.
-Matthew. ”
You blushed a bright red and looked to your left, to see Matthew looking at your card. Mattie looked over at you and smiled.
“I’m glad we have a crush on each other, (name)…” he said, looking at Ms. Brea and Mrs. Johnson.
“We’re going to watch a movie, everyone! So sit back and watch, and we’ll pass out cookies and granola bars~” Ms. Brea said, switching the lights off, while Mrs. Johnson put in “Ratatouille”
Matthew smiled and grabbed your hand. And you stayed like that for the rest of the day.
